What is a Betta Fish?

Written on November 16, 2007 – 3:25 pm | by admin |

Betta fish are beautiful, responsive, and easy to care for pets. Betta come in a beautiful variety of colors, from red to blue to a magestic white. And often times a mix of multiple colors. The betta fish can live up to 5 years. However you’ll usually find them in pet stores after they’re 1 year old, when they are more mature and colorful.

You’ll typically see betta fish in little aquariums all by themself. That is because they require very little space and tend to be quite violent towards other fish. They eat all kinds of feed from dry food to live brine shrimp.

Its no surprise that a fish also commonly known as the Siamese Fighting fish is very aggressive.
However betta are violent and aggressive by nature due to their natural habitat in Southeast Asia.
